About me

Dwight D. Eisenhower, President of the United States from 1953 to 1961, famously spoke these words: “Plans are nothing, but planning is everything.”

With over 30 years of experience as an IT leader, I have honed my expertise in Agile Leadership and enterprise architecture. Throughout my career, I have collaborated closely with senior executives and C-level leadership to assess solutions, oversee projects, and prioritize understanding the objectives rather than relying solely on rigid plans. Furthermore, I hold a Master's degree in computer science, specializing in distributed systems design, which has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of this field. As an enterprise architect, I possess a deep knowledge of distributed-based solutions and can effectively navigate the intricacies involved. Additionally, I have cultivated my skills as an Agile coach and thought leader, guiding teams towards adopting Agile methodologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Overall, my extensive experience, academic background, and expertise make me a valuable asset in driving successful IT initiatives and facilitating organizational growth.

John Royle worked in my division as a senior level architect under the supervision on Nancy Berger (Director Enterprise Illustrations development) for five years. I am writing this letter to express my admirations for his abilities as an architect and as a leader among his piers. John joined the Illustrations team as a consultant to assist in the design and development of a key automated Illustrations process. Shortly after hiring him the project team leader left the company and John took over full responsibilities for the development and deployment of this process. Since that time he has been instrumental in designing, developing, and managing various internal systems including the MetLife e-business Illustrations application. From my personal experience with John I can safely say that he is a conscientious, highly-skilled architect worthy of at least a senior to management level position in his area of expertise. He has keen insight into the development process, and has demonstrated his experience in analysis and design, development and project management. In addition John has a solid understanding of technology and excellent people skills; in short his experience and expertise will be truly missed.
